The band rehearsed, working up all the songs below, but never brought the band into any venues. There were other activities going on in everyone's lives that made scheduling challenging. These recordings remain that show off the wonderful talents of the members, especially the incredible harmonizing of the two lady vocalists as evidenced in songs like "Angel Standing By."
This wasn't a pure cover band. Because we didn't have the standard Rock n Roll band instrumentation of 2 guitars, bass and drums, we decided to get a little creative and added some fun twists to some of the songs we covered. Another amazing fact is that all these recordings were done live, no overdubs. The setup was Rick and I (Thorne) with our instruments and a single microphone around which we sat and hit the record button using what is now an ancient Sony MDM-X4 minidisc recorder given to me by an old Nowhere Men bandmate, Michael Hickman. We had a drum machine and a keyboard setup too in the room and Rose would occasionally reach over and add a few drum beats or keyboard riffs.
We had a good time in the short time we were together. I'm very glad to have these recordings. Sometimes it's not the end result that makes a journey worthwhile. Sometimes it's the getting there that is the best part. This was a damn good effort for 4 people who had no idea where we were taking it and I'm proud of what we created with Rick, Rose and Kristina. We done good !
